As you prepare for Spring and the change of seasons, Pack 597 has a new
and exciting Service Project that Jake Rawn is chairing. This is our
Pack's Good Turn for Today project. The details from Jake Rawn are set
forth below.
Please note the date and time above and below. Also, note
that there are different responsibilities depending on the age/Den of
your Scout. Thanks tom

The first element is
a donation drive done by the scouts. This will be mostly in-home
sorting or going to neighbors etc. The Pack's families and Scouts can
all meet at St. Andrew Gym (at or after 5 p.m.) to consolidate the
articles or each family can simply bring to ARC the evening of 19 April.
All clothing should be in good repair, clean and in plastic or paper
bags. The donation guide is attached to this message and can be posted
on the pack site.
Upon arrival to ARC, the donations from the
drive will be unloaded and tax receipts provided. ARC staff will then
hold a short discussion so the kids understand how ARC converts donated
items into financial assistance for the organizations working with
intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We will need some of
the older Scouts (Bears and Webelos) to volunteer at Value Village to
help unpack and sort donations such as clothing, accessories, household
items, books, toys, jewelry, etc. and help get them ready for the sales
floor. Unpacking and sorting donations is loads of fun for all
volunteers as you never know what amazing treasure you might discover!
Other volunteer projects include helping to hang and tag clothing,
price sticker hard goods and stock the merchandise on the sales floor.
Logistics: Date: April 19 Time: 6:30 PM Duration: 75-90 minutes.
Limitation: Youth 8-15 can volunteer at ARC. That means
any Scout not 8 years of age cannot participate in this activity at the
store. We will use the younger scouts to help with the clothing
collection at St. Andrew Church (starting at 5 p.m.
